The Consecration Ceremony for Glisson's EcoEternity Forest was held on Monday, November 14, 2011. Bishop Mike Watson, resident Bishop of the North Georgia Conference, was present to help consecrate this new venture into the life-long Christian ministry which Glisson represents.

"Glisson is a special place for us. As North Georgia clergy, Glisson will be our consistent church home for our family. Like so many others, we think of it as holy dirt. Being buried there will only make it more sacred."
- Reverends Leigh and Zack Martin
What is an EcoEternity Forest?

In contrast to a traditional scattering of ashes, a tree provides a living memorial. It can be visited, shared and photographed. A specific location may be very important for those who want to share rememberances.
"Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful place for our ashes to be buried. Our family truly believes Camp Glisson is holy dirt and we can think of no better place to be remembered."
- Carrell Hughes, mother of a long-time camper and LIT

"As Glisson approaches 100 years of ministry, we have become increasingly aware of our deep
connection with multiple generations of families. The EcoEternity Forest at Glisson reaffirms
our life-long relationships with the families and individuals we serve, and creates an
opportunity to be in ministry with new families at a significant point in their lives."
