Outpost

Week-long and 10-day adventure trips allow Outpost Senior High campers (rising 10th-12th grades) to hone their skills in specific activities: Backpacking, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Whitewater Kayaking, or Canoeing. After 1-2 nights at the Expedition Site, living groups set up tarp shelter camp sites for 3-night adventures on the trail, along the river, or at the rock face.

Pack and Paddle 10 Days

This 10-day adventure focuses on kayaking and backpacking skills as campers journey together on some of the finest rivers and trails North Georgia has to offer.

Campers will begin their journey at Springer Mountain, backpacking for four days along the Benton MacKaye Trail to the Toccoa River Suspension Bridge. From there, the group trades backpacks for boats as they spend two full days paddling the Toccoa River.

Campers then rejoin the Benton MacKaye Trail, hiking and camping near Brawley Mountain for the remainder of the trip before returning to camp for checkout. This exciting and multi-faceted trip is sure to challenge and satisfy even the most ardent adventurers.

Blue Ridge Canoe

After a day of team building and learning the skills necessary for the trip at the Outpost site, campers will depart for the river and pack everything in canoes as they travel expedition-style down the Toccoa River, setting up a new campsite each night along the way.

This incredible downriver adventure is basically backpacking in boats! The group will paddle four days on the river into Lake Blue Ridge where they will set up camp for the remainder of the trip on a remote island. There they will spend two days and three nights exploring and playing in beautiful Lake Blue Ridge, learning and practicing wilderness survival skills, and even participating in a lake-wide orienteering scavenger hunt.
